Gilbert is the founder of compassion focused therapy (CFT), compassionate mind training (CMT) and the author of books such as The Compassionate Mind: A New Approach to Life's Challenges  and Overcoming Depression.

It was not an enjoyable book to listen too and now that I have finished it I cannot think of any particular new of exciting insights I gained from it.
