About this deal
Eiichiro Oda ( 尾田栄一郎, Oda Eiichirō) is a Japanese manga artist, best known as the creator of the manga and anime One Piece. Step 2! - Draw a skull! ( STEP 2! - ドクロマークを描こう！) is the second portion of the previous extra segment found in this volume. The author gives simple step-by-step directions for readers to draw their own One Piece Style Jolly Roger. Now THIS is where ‘One Piece’ really hits its stride, with some of the best character-work I’ve seen (across whatever medium).

And so, the finished product turned out looking like this (↙). His name wasn't "Morgan", but "Chop". Translator's Note: "Chop the sailor" [水兵チョップ] also sounds similar to a well-known move called the 水平チョップ [Suihei Chop; lit. Horizontal Chop]) The reason why he ended up looking more or less good looking is because one of my editors straight up just told me that he "looks like crap". "True", I agreed.
These "pirate flags" are commonly referred to as "Jolly Rogers", and they symbolize death. Very scary. ROMANCE DAWN - The Dawn of the Adventure ( ROMANCE DAWN （ ロマンスドーン ）—冒険の夜明け— , Romansu Dōn - Bōken no Yoake ?): A young boy named Monkey D. Luffy swears to become the Pirate King, accidentally eats the Gomu Gomu no Mi, and is given a straw hat by his idol, Shanks. Ten years later, Luffy sets out on the high seas. Finally, there’s a bit that is very reminiscent of the part of a fairytale where a wild beast refuses to hurt the 3rd son or the princess-in-exile because they were kind to it. Which, OK, maybe Oda realized that 18 years later, and decided to build on it. But even if that's the case - still impressive. This volume cover was redrawn by Boichi in the series 22nd anniversary one-shot Roronoa Zoro Falls Into the Sea as part of the One Piece Cover Comic Project.Vivi's Adventure: With all the Officer Agents defeated, only Crocodile and his final plan to destroy the palace stands in the way of peace. While Luffy battles it out with the evil Croc in the royal tombs, Vivi and the rest of the Straw Hats have to find the bomb before it blows up the capital with everyone in it!

Eiichiro Oda debuted in WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP in 1997 as a comic creator and artist with ONE PIECE. One of the most popular comic artists in Japan today, Oda started out by winning the Hop Step Award (a monthly award given by Jump for amateur artists) as well as the esteemed Tezuka Award. His art style is reminiscent of Akira Toriyama, Sergio Aragones, and the movie Yellow Submarine. Introducing "Pirate Hunter Zoro" ( "海賊狩りのゾロ"登場 , "Kaizoku-gari no Zoro" Tōjō ?): Luffy and Koby arrive at an island where Roronoa Zoro is imprisoned. Intent on having him in his crew, Luffy meets him and a girl who reveals why he was captured. This volume's cover image is referenced in the cover of Volume 61, with Luffy, Zoro, and Nami in the same pose, but with the rest of the Straw Hats and Thousand Sunny added. Once that’s wrapped up, it’s time to find out what’s going on with Nami, and why she stole the Straw Hats’ ship! And what Oda does with Nami’s character here is every bit as good as what he does with Sanji’s – more so, arguably, since we get all of it at once.
