Ard Al Zaafaran Midnight Oud EDP for Men and Women. Options are 5ml, 10ml, 20ml, 30ml, 100ml EDP (Full Bottle) This is a steal. Absolutely worth getting, especially considering the price. Is it synthetic? Yes. Does it smell good? Absolutely.
This is more of a smooth suede woody fragrance. There is a subtle and smooth-as-silk leather/suede note in this fragrance at the heart. It's there from the spray until it becomes a skin scent. Now...I am not someone that likes "Leather" notes with the exception of two fragrances.... I'll be wearing this one out tomorrow to help a friend move. I'll see if it lasts through sweat and high body temps. It also have a good projection and sillage (good scent bubble around you) for 2 hour not beastly... and it will last and last.. at least 7-8 hour..I haven't smell SWY leather.. oud in here is smooth not overpower... It syntethic and screechy? Yes, but only in the first 10-15 minutes... after that, it just done beautifully...
It's also reminiscent of 1 Million, just a touch with the opening sweetness, but it's not as cloying or in your face as the Paco Rabanne monster that everyone and his grandad oversprays, it's far more intimate, more sophisticated yet more opulent. SWY has more quality but in the air they smell exactly the same ! if you're not a collector and want to smell SWY Leather just grab this one! If what he means by that phrase is he wanted to make a less aggressive oud which would be more wearable by people who are not enamored of strong notes, I think he succeeded. The top of Midnight Oud begins with a pairing of bergamot and saffron. This is as strong a saffron note as I’ve come across recently and it is an excellent choice to start off an oud based fragrance. The saffron imparts a slightly dried grass and leather aspect to the beginning which adds a little bit of exoticism to the beginning. The heart begins with the appearance of the oud. The oud is very restrained here, of all of the oud scents out there it is most closely akin to the level of oud in M7.

I haven't tried it yet, so I must do it, because oud is one of my favorite notes ;o)This one gets overshadowed by its predecessor "Oud 24 Hours" and I think it deserves more love. The OG is great but this is better. It's more masculine and more versatile. This is a delicious blind buy. British contributors will know of a deliciously rich, caramel flavoured chocolate bar called Caramac. Majestic Gold's patchouli base very much resembles Caramac's distinctive smell and in the beginning it is accompanied by floral notes that lie somewhere between Invictus and One Million. These go within ten minutes and occasional wafts of oud and sweet leather complement the caramel. Deeper into the dry down the gourmand element all but goes and you're left with a bed of a more straightforward patchouli.
