About this deal
NOTE: The Dell C3422WE monitor is very heavy; handle with extreme care. It is recommended to have two people to lift or move this monitor. The former is for when you’re listening to general stuff like music, movies, and etc. The latter, however, is optimized for video conference calls. That’s right, when in a call, it’s better to use the echo cancelling speakerphone as it does reduces echo, and the mids are higher to accentuate vocals. And that’s essential because you’d need to hear what the person is saying, right? According to Pew Research, 71% of U.S. workers in roles that can be performed remotely now work from home, a massive leap from just 20% in early 2020. This sudden shift created a buying frenzy for webcams, monitors, microphones, speakers, and USB hubs that has just started dying down.
NOTE: USB Type-C power delivery-compliant port (PD version 2.0) delivers up to 90 W of power. If your laptop personal computer requires more than 90 W to operate and the battery is drained. It is recommended you use the standard AC adapter of the laptop personal computer to power on and charge the laptop battery.
The C2422HE, C2722DE, and C3422WE Echo Cancelling Speakerphone output sound output is different when in Zoom and Teams. The volume specification in Zoom and Teams is different for C2422HE, C2722DE, and C3422WE monitors:
Don’t get this if you’re a gamer, because it is not made for that. This is a productivity monitor, and it won’t have all the features that are most sought after by gamers. The Monitor is designed with a Dell Power Button Sync (DPBS) feature to control personal computer system power state from a monitor power button.* It is possible to chain together monitors with different display resolutions. For example, one 2560 x 1600 monitor could be used with two 1920 x 1080 monitors. The last monitor in the chain could even be an older DisplayPort 1.1 monitor (which only has a DisplayPort input), so long as the other monitors all have DP 1.2 inputs and outputs.
In terms of speech recognition, video call participants have rated my voice as an 8/10 with good clarity.
Two good alternatives come from Dell itself. The Ultrasharp U3421WE has even better image quality and even more ports at a similar price. It's also a great monitor for professionals who need the best color accuracy possible. Now moving into the audio department, yes, the Dell C3422WE monitor has a pair of 5W stereo speakers that plays audio from your PC/laptop. I was impressed at how loud the volume can get actually, which is great for video conferences and even watching movies. But despite the loud volume, some distortion can be heard when you’re past the 60% mark, so the sweet spot would be at 50% for me. CAUTION:The Dell C3422WE setup must comply with the recommended panel orientation and working angle only. Setting up the monitor in an orientation that is not recommended may damage the monitor and/or cause a safety hazard.
